Current, Upcoming and Past Events CURRENT & UPCOMING EVENTS All fundraising activities have ended. Thank you for your support. Scroll down to view an archive of our past events! PAST EVENTS Sale of Stationery and Food Items within the School Picking off from the successful sales of the food items at the end of the Term 2, we are continuing sales in school during the recess and lunch breaks at the canteen. Pens, custom-made Post-it Pads, plastic folders as well as crackers will be put on sale as individual items and grab bags. Items are rotated from time to time, ensuring a fresh variety of goods. Sale on Cross Country Nomination Tickets (14th May to 20th May) Incorporating Bowen Secondary School's Annual Cross Country Run, nomination tickets were sold to the students and teachers daily, starting from 1 week before the race. The $1 ticket entitles the buyer to vote for a teacher from a list of over 60 teachers, who are divided into the 1km and 5km categories. The 3 teachers who accumulate the most number of votes would have to run their respective distances during the Cross Country Run. This newly-implemented system was well-recieved and raised more than $460. Cross Country Run (21st May) ![]() The much-awaited school event saw the teacher nominees in sporting action on the 5km-long running track at Bedok Reservoir. After the run, packets of crackers were sold to the students and teachers at 2-for-$1. The sales were highly successful with individuals purchasing as many as 30 packets in one go. Sales continued within the school after the run, raising over $400. Street Sales (9th, 16th & 23rd July, 2pm to 6pm) Our team of volunteers headed to several hotspots throughout Hougang, Ang Mo Kio and Orchard Road to peddle stationery items as individual items and grab bags. Customers showed off their philanthrophic spirit in generous doses - some of them donated enthusiastically in multiples of ten. A smaller street sales round was held on the 20th of August in Hougang as well. Drama Fest 2010 (22nd July) To liven up this year's Drama Fest (an annual stageplay competition for the Secondary 1 students), our Lower Secondary volunteers seized the opportunity to solicit donations by selling snacks to members of the audience prior to the performances. Song Dedications (30th July) An after-school event where songs and messages were dedicated to the students and teachers. Message Dedications (27th August) Prior to teachers day, several students from 3E1 and 3E2 set up a separate booth during recess and after school on Friday. Patrons can pay $0.50 to write their Teacher's Day wishes to their beloved teachers, which would be subsequently pinned up on a board that would be displayed on the foyer over the next few days. Bowen Homecoming Day (31st August) Exclusive to the alumni who came back on this day after the Teacher's Day Concert, this fundraiser was held canteen where ex-students can purchase Teachers' Day gifts on the spot to present to their ex-teachers. Many of the ex-students had a good time hanging around with their teachers and recounting old times at the hour-and-a-half event. This is the last fundraising activity for the Beautiful Wrinkles Project. |
